The first PC maintained a constant 1080p 60FPS with a mixture of medium and high settings. With each PC, I targetted a different resolution, settings, and frame rate. And the higher-end PC with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900x, Nvidia RTX 3090, and 64GB of DDR RAM. Another with a Ryzen 5 560xx, RTX 2080 Ti, and 32GB of RAM. One equipped with a Ryzen 3 1300x, Nvidia GTX 1080 TI, 32GB of DDR RAM. Now that last point may not seem like a big deal, but it really adds to the game’s immersion.įor my testing, I’ve used three different PCs. I’m talking about unlimited frame rates, increased level of details, FOV slider (so damned good), and the foliage draw distance. Of course, the biggest reasons to check out this port of a two-year-old title are the enhancements. Either way, I’m not kidding when I say that Days Gone on PC is optimized. As such, I’d imagine it was easier for Bend Studios to port the game over to the PC instead of using a custom game engine. Unlike the prior PlayStation 4 game ports, Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone was built on the Unreal Engine 4 from Epic Games. But if you want to know about performance and other PC-centric bits, then read on. If you’re looking for gameplay stuff, you’re in the wrong place. DAYS GONE PC RELEASE DATE PS4
Now, this isn’t a review of the game, as we have already reviewed Days Gone on the PS4 several years ago.
But now the gloves are off, and I can talk about what I feel is one of the best efforts on porting a PlayStation 4 title to the PC. I’ve spent the past week talking about this game and answering as many questions as PlayStation would allow. Moreover, with the commercial success of Days Gone, it's very possible that a sequel is on the way.ĭays Gone is available on the PS4 and PS5.The day is finally here, and we can officially talk about the Days Gone PC port, which releases on May 18th, 2021, for the PC. While the latter has yet to be confirmed, game director Christopher Reese in a 2019 interview with GamesRadar, hinted at a sequel by saying that the studio wants to breathe more life into this world. It's no doubt that releasing Days Gone on PC would be great news for Days Gone 2.
As such, releasing Days Gone on PC in that same time period makes even more sense as it could make up for an overall profitable month for PlayStation, scarcity notwithstanding. While Returnal is shaping up to be the studio's most ambitious game to date, and a notable addition to the PS5's arsenal, the console's on-going scarcity will undoubtedly affect the game's sales. Housemarque studio's long-awaited third-person roguelike shooter Returnal will release on April 30. If Days Gone releases in late April, it wouldn't be the only PlayStation game releasing that month. Days Gone's initial reviews may not have been ideal, but it has garnished a dedicated fan base over the years that still play and discuss the game on social media platforms. Game anniversaries are often moments when fans collectively look back in retrospect, discuss, and replay those titles to rejuvenate the nostalgia. And while spring could be anything from March to May, there are pretty good reasons for it to release in April: To be precise, April 26.Īpwill mark two years since Days Gone released on the PS4. While it's exciting for PC users to finally get their hands on this massive open world, Days Gone still doesn't have a concrete release date aside from a tentative spring release. In an interview with GQ Magazine, Sony's Jim Ryan confirmed that Days Gone will join a "whole slate" of PlayStation exclusives headed to PC.
